General Information
  • The Mollie Wheat Memorial Clinic (MWMC) is a free, student-run clinic for the Terre Haute area
  • The clinic is open the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month (during the academic year) from 8am-noon. Volunteers typically work from 7:30am-12:15pm depending on how many patients are seen.
  • We work to have doctors of different specialties volunteer a day of their time at the clinic
  • The clinic has a functional lab where we can order basic lab tests for our patients
  • This is an inter-professional environment: we have doctors, medical students, ISU Health Admin/Public Health students, and ISU dieticians who volunteer with us.
Clinic Roles
  • MS1 - Basic vitals, history-taking and will assist the MS2 with the physical exam.
  • MS2 - Work with the MS1 on their history-taking if needed and perform a physical exam on the patient. Will come up with a possible diagnosis and plan to present to the MS3/4.
  • MS3/4 - Advise the MS2 students if there are any questions. They are to come up with a tentative diagnosis and plan and present this to the volunteering physician.
  • Health admin - Work the front desk for patient intake. They take demographic information and help patients get signed in.
  • Dietitians - Are available for the patients to discuss meal plans specific to their health.
